Neon is a fragile sign with high voltage going through it. Creating it requires a combination of science and craftmanship. You should always use caution when interacting with your neon sign.
· DO NOT hold it by the glass tubes
· Hold it only by a solid part of the frame, either the clear acrylic box or the metal frame
· DO NOT use an extension cord to plug in your sign.
· We HIGHLY RECOMMEND using a surge protector to ensure your sign remains safe in the event of power surges.
· Always use the surge protector to turn the sign on and off. The pull chain is delicate, and too much pulling will create unnecessary wear and tear on the transformer. Broken pull chains on the transformer are not under warranty.
· DO NOT PUT YOUR NEON SIGN ON A DIMMER OR SMART PLUG. The transformer is not compatible.
· Do not try to move the sign yourselves. Please call us if you need the sign relocated to a different wall.
· We are not responsible for broken components if a customer attempts to move the sign themselves.
· If your sign has eye hooks for mounting, we recommend a strong metal chain to securely hang your sign (i.e. jack chain).
· Use the surge protector to turn the sign on and off. Too much on and off on the pull chain will create unnecessary wear and tear on the transformer.
· Broken pull chains on the transformer are not under warrantee.
In general, we do not recommend that you attempt to clean your sign. There is too much of a risk of breakage. However, if you absolutely must, here are a few things to remember:
· DO NOT ATTEMPT to clean the sign while it is on.
· You can remove surface dust with a Q-tip VERY GENTLY.
· DO NOT press on the glass.
· Be careful to avoid the electrical connections.
· We are not responsible for damage incurred from cleaning attempts.
Q: My sign won’t turn on. What do I do?
A: Try plugging it into a different outlet first. If it doesn’t turn on at all or does not flicker, there is probably a broken glass unit. Please call us.
Q: One of the glass tubes is flickering or swirling.
A: This is most likely because it is a young tube that was just made and it needs time to age. If it is flickering or swirling on an older sign, that could mean the glass unit is about to die. Please contact us.
· Contact us and send us a picture of video of the damage, and we will talk through what the sign may need for repairs.
· If this is a customer hung sign, we may ask you to bring us the sign to assess.
· If the sign is hard mounted to a wall, we will perform a service call. In-person service calls are subject to current labor rates.
· There is a 1-year warranty on the transformer only. Labor and travel time is still billable to the customer.
· Warranty of the transformer does not include damage sustained by any of the above actions.
